In response to recently introduced Erasmus Germany requirements, LXI has adapted its Work Experience offerings, while continuing to meet and exceed the standards these new controls are intended to enforce.
1) Students and Teachers can now choose from our 5x KA1 Work Preparation e-learning modules A) Level I - B1 English level B) Level II - B2 English Level C) Level III - C1 English level D) Catering & Food Industry module E) Agriculture in Ireland & Agri Safety Module.
Certification is awarded following completion of 350+ online questions (approx. four hours work over two months, completed online). This shifts the workload away from supervising teachers and class time, supporting a stronger programme start in Ireland and improved project success.
2) On Request : Two invoices can be issued: One invoice for the Erasmus mobility project and its complete management. The second invoice of €50pp for assistance to your school, in sourcing Irish placements.
Demand for local work placements is further increased by Irish Transition Year students seeking work experience across Irish businesses, making the process of isolating work placements/ internships highly competitive.
3) By design, LXI addresses placement challenges at source. Students are required to submit three work preferences in order of priority and provide a detailed profile, bio, and interests section, all of which are carefully reviewed by LXI Area Managers. LXI then approaches only industry-relevant Irish employers, resulting in 95% of students being placed in their first work preference.
LXI assign students to the relevant Host Company and match them up to local warm and welcoming Host Families from our database of >500 host families in the southeast of Ireland, and manage logistics for the program.
4) Irish Host Companies sign / stamp your documentation, when an LXI staff member drives supervising teachers to each work placement on the final week for student evaluation. No supervising teacher car hire is required for the final evaluations.
As a result of recent updates, Erasmus Germany has introduced a requirement for Host Employers to sign Learning Agreements in advance of the mobility period. This approach contradicts LXI’s 12-year paperless policy, significantly increases the risk of exposure to data breaches, increases carbon footprint (thus undermining Erasmus+ commitments to green travel and inclusion), and creates additional labour and vehicle costs to LXI.
For this reason:
LXI recommends that by limiting documentation handling, your school and KA1 project remain GDPR-compliant (and significantly lowering the risk of data breaches), Erasmus compliant, environmentally sustainable, and on schedule.
Our objective is to ensure all school programmes run on time and deliver a meaningful, real-world work experience for everyone involved.
