Join a 'Work Placement Program Group' that will include individuals from all around the world on any of the dates listed above. We cater for programs of a duration - 2 to 12 weeks - in the South East of Ireland. Work Experience or Work Placement Programs or Internships for Erasmus / PON are catered for with our "Open Program" LXI are your Erasmus Partner Company, in Ireland.
Once you arrive before the times outlined above - we will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your LXI location to meet your amazing Irish Host Family, on arrival. After 13:00pm we will forward you a Bus Ticket for your coach transfer, to your Irish Location. Your Host family and our Area Manager will meet you off the coach on arrival at that nominated location. Work Placement starts on a Monday morning.

Your Voluntary Work Placement will be from Monday to Friday each week with fully organised cultural tours every second weekend along with mid week social evenings, to meets others! Office / Administration - Small Businesses, Solicitors Offices, Accountants Offices, Retail Offices, Tourism Office, Kitchen & Tile Companies, Politicians Office, or Art Galleries.
Catering - Hotel & Restaurant chef positions, Waiting in cafes and restaurants, Food Producers or Bar & Food premises.
Trades - Painting & Decorating work, Mechanical Garage work, Hairdressing, Beautician work, Electrical work, Plumbing work, Carpentry work, Landscaping work, Web design, Social Media Marketing, Video production & Advertising or Database entry.

1. Is the program safe, and how is my teen supervised?
Language Xchange Ireland consistently prioritise safety: LXI are an ISO45001 Health & Safety Certified company under UKAS. We are audited annually and held this certification for the last >10 years. Our CEO is a Chartered Safety & Health Practitioner with IOSH. Your student has single room occupancy accommodation and receives lifts to and from work daily. LXI are 16 years in operation and the largest and fastest growing Work Placement / Internship provider in Ireland. Each town has an LXI resident Area Manager on call 24 / 7 and we meet ever 3 days through social nights and cultural tours. All events, times, dates & instructions are outlined in a digital diary via your students mobile. 2. Who is responsible for my teen abroad, and what are their qualifications?
LXI is founded and owned by a Chartered Safety & Health Practitioner with IOSH - a former EHS consultant and trainer. Our Area Managers are trained to high spec and continuously mentored by our CEO. Rules, systems and protocols are clear for our participants, partnering Host families, Irish Companies and team at LXI. The Team at LXI strives to fulfill our ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 UKAS audit annually.
3. What exactly will my teen do, and are tasks appropriate for their age and skill level?
LXI set role boundaries to ensure our students are learning, not performing work beyond their training / age, and that all duties follow ethical and are within legal expectations for teenagers. Irish employers, like the Irish themselves are very friendly and enjoy having LXI students on board. At the end of each program - LXI students complete an evaluation form reviewing their Work Placement, Host Family and LXI team. This allows LXI to monitor everything that happens and implement controls. LXI is unique in it offering of an eLearning Preparation online program - to assists 17-19yr olds in preparing for Ireland. 4. How will this internship benefit my teen’s future education or career?

5. What support systems are in place for housing, wellbeing, and day‑to‑day challenges?
LXI offer Host Family single room accommodation, three meals a day, daily lifts to and form work, cultural adjustment support, 24/7 Area manager assistance. We have a a very large database of excellent Host Families with us for the last 10 - 16 years of operation. All HFs are screened and evaluated by their last guest. In the case of illness and injury, LXI have a very clear policy in our diary for all to reference and it is discussed at Orientation Training in advance of arrival. Our local town resident Area Manager is on standby to assist with Doctor appointments and hospitalisation if it arises. Our level of organization and support has lead LXI to grow incredibly quick in German, Swiss and Austrian markets with lots of growth in Czech Rep., Slovenia, Italy and Slovakia too!
